Quick take · 30-second version

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your background?

My name is António, and since my high school years, I have always exhibited a natural inclination towards Mathematics and found the subject to be both effortless and logical. It was evident to me that I should pursue a career in a related field, and therefore, I decided to study computer science.

Prior to joining Spider AF, I had worked with three different companies, albeit for brief periods. These engagements included a one-month internship, a six-month contract, and a one-year contract. However, my current role at Spider AF has been the most fulfilling and rewarding experience, providing me with ample opportunities to learn and grow.

My childhood was spent working with my hands, whether that was fixing electronics, butchering woodwork projects, working on cars or driving machinery (I learned how to drive when I was 9 years old). I was always fascinated by how things worked, asking questions and solving problems.

What inspired you to pursue a career in your field?

As previously mentioned, my natural interest for Mathematics has been a valuable asset throughout my life. Additionally, from a young age, I developed a passion for understanding the intricacies of video games and was captivated by the incredible things they could do.

This curiosity led me to discover the world of programming, and by the age of 15, I had already begun to develop small-scale programs on my own.

Can you share a proud moment or accomplishment in Spider AF so far?

While it is challenging to identify a single defining moment, I would have to say that the most meaningful experience for me thus far has been the opportunity to work collaboratively with my team, absorbing their wealth of knowledge and experience.

In turn, it has been an immense privilege to have earned their trust and confidence, knowing that I can count on them just as they can rely on me.

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

Throughout my life, I have experimented with over 20 different sports, yet the only one that has consistently captured my attention and kept me coming back for more is rugby.

Even now, at the age of 24, I am still an active rugby player, having first picked up the ball when I was just 5 years old.

How do you like to spend your weekends or time off?

My favorite pastimes include playing rugby, enjoying a few drinks with my buddies, and having meals with my family. When I'm not busy with any of that, I usually like to kick back and relax.

With the weather getting warmer, I've been heading to the beach more often to sleep there and get some sun, rather than just lounging at home in my bed.

How would you describe the culture at Spider AF?

Goal-oriented, respectful, hard-working and organized.

Where is the best place you have visited?

Best place if very difficult, but I would say Dubai, Hvar/Croatia and Azores (got to give credit to my home country).

What is the best career lesson you have learned so far?

No matter how skilled or knowledgeable you may believe yourself to be in a particular area, there is always room for improvement and further learning. And it mostly comes from time/experience.

FAQ

People also ask.

Q 01 Are click farms illegal? +
In most jurisdictions, click farms violate ad-network terms of service and consumer-protection laws — but enforcement is patchy and cross-border. The FTC has taken action against fake-engagement operations, and Japan's METI has issued guidance treating fake reviews and bot traffic as deceptive practices. The practical reality: legal action is slow; technical blocking is fast.
Q 02 How is a click farm different from a botnet? +
Click farms typically use real humans (or human-supervised devices) to evade behavioral detection — they pass CAPTCHAs, mimic mouse movement, even simulate purchase journeys. Botnets are fully automated and easier to fingerprint. Modern fraud usually blends both: bots for volume, human "supervisors" for the high-value clicks.
Q 03 Can Google Ads or Meta detect click farms on their own? +
Both networks credit obviously-invalid clicks, but their detection runs on aggregated, post-hoc statistical signals — they refund days or weeks later. By then, your bidding algorithms have already optimized toward the polluted data. Independent, real-time detection at the click layer is what closes the loop.
Q 04 Will blocking click-farm traffic hurt my reach? +
No. Blocking invalid clicks only removes traffic that was never going to convert. The downstream effect is usually the opposite — your bidding model gets cleaner training signal and starts spending more on audiences that actually convert.
Q 05 How fast can Spider AF block click-farm traffic? +
Sub-200ms detection at the click event, with auto-sync to Google, Meta, TikTok, and Microsoft exclusion lists in seconds. Most accounts see meaningful blocking within 24 hours of installing the tag.
